Meaning of tattoo: The flag of Spain has three horizontal stripes in the colors red, yellow and red (1:2:1) and is derived from the medieval Aragonese coat of arms. According to a false legend, the West Franconian king Charles II. Holý (843–877) dipped his fingers in the blood of his wounded ally, Count Wilfred I of Aragon, after a battle with the Moors, and wiped them on his still empty shield; thus the sign was created.
